Let me introduce myself, first with a photo:

My name is BORGET Sebastien, I was born on the December 25th, 1984 in Toulon (South of France). I am now 23 years old, and I graduated in September 2007, with highest mention, from french engineering school “Grandes Ecoles” Télécom INT (National Institute of Telecommunications).

I started my first website on Internet at the age of 14, and even though it was my first experience, it quickly became a reference with above 50 000 unique visitors per day! Since then, I have launched various other projects on Internet, and some of which became also great success (part of the Alexa’s Top 1000), attracting more than 300 000 unique daily visitors!

From webmaster, I progressively established a sound reputation as freelance developer and project manager, helping my customers to develop, launch and promote their own websites. I also participated in the development of open source software and brought my own contribution to the world of open source by providing free php/mysql scripts, that you can find on my website in the “Software” section.

In 2002, I started interesting myself into Peer-to-Peer technology, and more specifically to the Bittorrent protocol. I became very active a Bittorrent Trackers developer, and provided to the open source community several tracker scripts written in PHP/MySQL, plus some modules for integration of Bittorrent into the most famous Forum and CMS scripts.

In early 2006, I started learning Web 2.0 technologies such as Ajax, XMLHTTPRequest … and became a beta tester of new Web 2.0 services. I didn’t limit myself to the technical part of Web 2.0, but wanted to follow this evolution of the Web by interviewing entrepreneurs and try to get their vision of the future of Internet. I joined in 2007 Wixi Inc. as Chief Operations Officer and I am actively involved in the management of a innovative Web 2.0 project and a dynamic team of developers.

Concerning my educational history, once I acquired my high-school diploma, I followed during two years the preparation for the highly competitive, national entrance exams to leading French “grandes écoles”, specialized in math and physics. After I succeeded at this exam, I integrated Télécom INT, where I followed a M.S. in Information Systems Management. In September 2007, I graduated from my engineering school and I have received the diploma of Engineer in Networks and Telecommunications.

On top of my solid technical background, acquired both from my formation at Télécom INT and self-learning, I have acquired a strong international culture by spending 6 months in Hong-Kong as an exchange student at the Chinese University of Hong-Kong, and through several travels: China, Vietnam, Thailand. I also spend 2 months in Argentina for work on Wixi project and previously worked with people of various origins: arabic, indian, asian … either over Internet or in real life. I love discovering new cultures and always try to get involved into projects with international opportunities.
