I know it’s been a long time since I posted something on my blog, but I won’t post today personal news (although there are many hihi)

Today, I would like to dedicate this post to my favorite actor of all times: Jacky Chan

Since I am kid, I love all Jacky Chan movies: it’s fun, there’s great action and stunts, and to me Jacky Chan is more than an actor, he is a LEGEND !!!

A friend of mine sent me today a video of some of the most spectacular / dangerous stunts of Jacky Chan, and I decided to put on my Wixi the video plus a full reportage on Jacky Chan stunts!

Yes, just a short message to tell everybody I am back from China again. This trip was full of adventures and misadventures.
I am currently in a rush to prepare all my stuff, because I changed my return flight to tomorrow, but I will give more details about my trip to Guilin / Yangshuo in my next posts ! Yes I will spend New Year in France. Good bye China, I will miss you, but I will come back for sure. I really love this country, I feel good there.

FR: Just un bref message pour vous dire que je suis de retour de Chine. Ce voyage à Guilin / Yangshuo fut plein d’aventures et mésaventures. Je suis très pressé car j’ai changé mon billet retour à demain soir, mais je donnerais plus de détails sur ce trip à Guilin / Yangshuo dans mes prochains posts. Et oui, finalement je vais passer le nouvel an en France, auprès de ma famille. Au-revoir la Chine, tu vas me manquer, mais je reviendrais pour sûr. J’aime vraiment ce pays, je m’y sens bien.

I miss you all !

My semester at the Chinese University of Hong-Kong is ending soon, and my flight back to France is scheduled for the 4th of January. While my come back to France will be a huge mess (no permanent place to stay, new job starting three days after my arrival), I would like to keep enjoying China here !

I spent last week-end in Zhuhai, Guangdong province to see my friend Alexandre Imperatori (you can visit his website on www.alexandreimperatori.com) racing on a Formula 3 with the Asian Racing Team. Yes he won the course but I missed it on sunday, so I could assist only at the race on saturday. Zhuhai is a very nice place, although nobody is speaking english there. So I tried to survived with my chinese … and I think it was ok, I got a new hair cut, bought some stuff for me and presents for my family.

Then, on monday and tuesday, we worked with the french style: finishing a project within one night. Yes it worked, we are quite happy with it, but the teacher wasn’t lol … Actually I am not sure you can find someone in France able to develop a whole search engine, without reusing any already made components, and dealing with all steps (crawling, indexing, searching) in 3 different programming languages (Python, Java, PHP/MySql/Ajax) in such a short laps of time … But yes of course the chinese guys have spent 15 days and nights on it, so yeah they might have some more features. Unfortunately they don’t have the same work load as we have (we follow twice more courses as they do, and we are postgraduate), without taking into account my part-time job and my different missions …

Then, yesterday I went to Shenzhen with Frank and Marouane. A lot of fun at the arcade gaming centre (yeah we finished Time Crisis 3, played Mario Kart, Maximum Tunes 2 and some other great games), then doing some shopping (buying some warm clothes for China and France). Most funny part of this day was the massage, when I had to translate the chinese from the girls to french for Marouane, and german for Frank, and english for both sometimes. Oh yes they say my chinese is useless because I cannot hold a discussion, but still sometimes I feel proud able to speak chinese and understand a little
Remark: I am very bad at DDR now, lol, but whatever it is not trendy anymore here ^^

Yesterday I met a funny chinese postgraduate student girl who told me:

- “You are a local no ? You really look like Hong-Kong people !” (what a surprise !!!)
- “Really ? Maybe it is because I am a quarter vietnamese, but usually people see immediately I am not from here and speak english to me”
- “To me you look like Hong-Kong people”

5 minutes later in the discussion: (talking about a girl who looked like Mickey with her tshirt and hair cut)
- “Hey look, don’t you think that I look like Mickey Mouse like this ?” (she puts her hair up so it makes like the ears of Mickey)
- Laughs ….. “Ah no sorry definitively not, except if its a chinese version of Mickey” (did I say fake ???, no I am mean lol)
(she had good cheeks and a rond face, yet no, with the chinese eyes it cannot make it, sorry …)

Ah ah, yet at least chinese people are more talkative than Hong-Kong people !

My friends in Hong-Kong (most of them are french) have also their own blogs, I have added a link to their sites in the menu “Friend’s Blogs” part.

I highly suggest you to go and have a look at it. I personnaly find their blog very cool, and they are really blog, because they take time to relate their adventures and organize the posts with nice pictures and funny remarks.

My site being a mix between a blog, a personnal and a professional page, I do not really talk about what I do here, I just merely posts the pictures (hundreds of pictures) and tell you to have a look at them. On the other side, I prefer to tell the stories in live, so just meet me when I will come back to France and I will have thousands of things to tell you and memories to share ^^

Pas grand chose de nouveau en ce moment, je sors avec le même groupe de personnes en ce moment. Il y a un peu de nouveau sur un certain plan, mais c’est trop tôt pour que j’en parle hihi.

A partir de la semaine prochaine, je vais rentrer en période d’examens.

Sinon on a pris une photo de groupe avec Irwin KING, notre professeur de Information Retrieval et Search Engine.

La voilà, elle est sorti il y a peu de temps et on la trouve déjà à Hong-Kong. Et non la bête n’est pas encore mienne, car elle est très enrombée (pour ne pas dire boulémique) et son prix flirte allégrèment au delà de la descence. Et oui, pour l’avoir il faut débourser de 450 euros (version 20go) à 650 euros (version 60go). On va attendre que le buzz passe et elle retombera au prix plus qu’acceptable de 375 euros en version 60go.

Demain la Wii sera disponible à Hong-Kong pour 300 euros avec deux jeux, c’est un prix plus que raisonnable !

Bon, la vérité dans tout ca c’est qu’il faut savoir attendre pour profiter de ces consoles à des prix très cheap comparé à l’Europe, mais qu’elles risquent de s’ajouter à ma collection d’ici 2007 hihi !

Cela faisait quelques temps que nous n’étions pas sorti dans les bars et clubs à Hong-Kong, alors hier on s’est décidé à retourner à Lan Kwai Fong (le quartier des bars et des internationaux à HK) pour la énième fois (quoique pour mes amies japonaises qui nous accompagnaient c’était la première fois lol). Vous n’allez pas le croire, mais d’un groupe de 6 personnes on peut facilement arriver à le doubler là-bas !

Quand on va à Lan Kwai Fong:
1) On est sûr de rencontrer d’autres étudiants de la CUHK eux aussi en groupe
2) Maintenant avec l’expérience on est quasi-sûr de rencontrer des locaux habitués de l’endroit
3) On fait des rencontres surprenantes

Au sujet du petit 3), cela faisait un sacré bout de temps que l’on avait pas revu nos compatriotes français à la HKUST, et bien poum voilà on les trouve là ! Just in front of the Seven Eleven Club (là où la bière est pas chère mon ami !). J’ai aussi revu Céline et sa collègue de travail, mais là la rencontre était un peu planifiée ^^ Et elle a retrouvé une ancienne de camarade de classe qui elle était à Taiwan juste comme par hasard !

Je vous l’avais dit, le monde est petit à LKF Et là tout ce que je raconte c’est juste quand on arrive à LKF, ensuite y a encore des gens qui arrivent parce qu’ils t’appellent et te demandent où tu es
Bref j’aime bien les soirées à LKF, pour les gens que j’y rencontre, pour les filles que j’y voie et celles que j’amène ^^

Non, il ne s’agit pas d’un de mes ancêtres, et pourtant oui moi un BORGET emprunte la même route qu’un autre BORGET (Auguste BORGET, peintre du 19ième siècle). Comme me la fait remarqué un visiteur du site, le peintre Auguste BORGET d’Issoudun a voyagé en Chine, à Hong-Kong , à Macau et pas mal d’autres endroits …

Lui a peint les paysages qui l’ont marqué, moi je les ai photographiés (oui je suis plus fénéant mais la technologie aidant … lol).

En tout cas merci à ce visiteur pour sa judicieuse remarque, je vais essayer de passer au musée de l’art à Hong-Kong, ce qui me donnera une raison d’utiliser à nouveau ma carte étudiante museum à HK (j’ai déjà fait les musées de la science et du patrimoine) et me procurer son livre si je passe à Macau à nouveau.
